This month's challenge was to turn an egg. I left this open to interpretation, and duly expected a variety of turnings. I've gotta admit I was blown away by the entries! The amount of creativity, thought, and skill is impressive. This will be a challenging vote--take some time to peruse the entries in the original challenge thread (linked above).

Now, the challenge for all forum members (this means you and me) is to choose a winner. Voting begins now and concludes at 11:59p-ish (USA Eastern time [UTC -5]) on Friday, 2 May, 2025. You are allowed two votes; once you have voted, you won't be able to go back and change your votes. After you have voted, you can track the vote totals. The voting is secret (just like an actual election), so nobody else can see who you voted for (not even the moderators/administrators). In case of a tie vote, the forum moderators will gather in a virtual waist-deep shavings-filled shop to determine the winner.

As in all previous challenges, the winner might have to pass a lie detector test before being awarded the Grand Prize (rumored to be a high-carbon dogleg SRG).

The following are this month's entries (including the replies):

Big congratulations to @Phil Hamel for his very clever cracked egg (and humorous story to go along with it). Lovely wood choices, and fitting design elevated this piece to the top. Well done to everyone else, too! It can be intimidating to post something that will be subjected to a public vote, so a big thanks for the participation. The May challenge will be a bit different--stay tuned!

Congrats Phil! You really think outside the box sometimes and it paid off this time!

Hopefully I can submit something for the May challenge, I haven't wanted to try the last few months since they would take some learning and experimenting. Am trying to focus on making what I know in my limited turning time so it feels productive!
