Very, very saddened to learn that Binh passed away. I saw him at the AAW symposium in Kansas City just two months ago. He didn't look very good and I asked him and he said he had gastric cancer. He gave a very moving speech later at the award ceremony. The world lost a great artist and human being. RIP, Binh.

A truely great man, not just an artist. Aw inspiring. I'm just in shock. He is one of the people I most admire.

I'm shocked. I saw him in Oregon in March and he seemed in the pink of health. It must have come on suddenly. He died much too young, still had so much to do. I'm so glad I got to see and speak to him.

My heart goes out to his family and friends.
His was a great life. He shared a lot of it with a lot of us. I was lucky to have met him on the weekend that I decided to become a woodturner.

Sorry to hear of the loss of a true artist who created from wood.
Administrators, would it be possible to have a thread with photos highlighting some of his works? Or are they available in the Gallery?

You can Google Binh Pho to find his web site and see some of his works. We can't repost images that belong to somebody else without permission. If you haven't read "River of Destiny", the life and work of Binh Pho by Kevin Wallace, it is definitely a page turner that is well worth owning.

If any forum members have taken pictures of his works at a symposium or other venue, they are certainly welcome to post them.

Thanks for the information on Binh Pho. I will definitely follow up. Understand the copyright issues so no problem.
Edit: I just finished the article posted as a link. Very interesting and very moving as Binh Pho puts a perspective on freedom that many take for granted or just ignore.

Our condolences to his family and to all those whose lives were touched by this gentle man.

I was privileged to see and speak with him at the Oregon symposium. A sad loss of a man and an artist.

I heard that Binh gave a very moving speech at the Kansas AAW. Is there a video or audio of this on the web if so where is it?
