I have turned straight grained Black Willow, but I noticed that it had small burls here and there. Then a little more recently I found a bunch of Black willow trees infested with burls. It is one of my favorite woods now; however I would like to know what other people have experienced with it.

Seriously, I'd like to see some of the finished products if you'd care to post them. I've only seen pictures of it in cut board form; have never seen it turned. Most of what I've seen look a lot like poplar.
Can ya send me a twig? Maybe in a box of wet soil? I understand that if you stick one of its twigs in wet ground it'll sprout with great vigor. But it isn't know to grow naturally in my region.

I'm talking about a tree. Most of what I turn is burl. Amazing figure, similar to Amboyna Burl.
 
What is the figure on weeping willow burl compared to black willow???? Where I grew up in Mass there was a string of weeping willows filled with burls-they're gone now. I have seen some weeping willows around Mich with burls. Gretch
 
I have not seen weeping willow, but here are some pictures of black willow burl.

Your photo’s look quite similar to Brazilian Pepper burl.

I have a Curly Willow we planted from a cutting as George stated. The thing is only about fifteen or sixteen years old but is already thirty plus feet tall. The power company is always on my case because they think it is to close to the wires. I explain to them that it is above the wires and doesn’t pose a problem but they don’t agree. Anyway, I regularly prune off the branches that sprout out from the lower trunk and this has produced some small areas of burl. I figure I’m now cultivating it for turning because eventually the power company is going to win the argument.
