I mentioned in another thread about making a Bowl from one of my Ten Pin Bowling balls that had cracked. I really like the contrast between the Red and Blue reactive coverstock and the white outer core. Quite abrasive to turn so I mostly used carbide, like my shop made version of the Hunter Hercules. Turned about six or seven years ago from a 15.5lb Brunswick Mastermind.

Cool. That must have been a dusty project.

Staying with bowling balls but for an entirely different reason... a few weeks back I came across a bowling tourney on TV. After watching for a couple minutes, Earl Anthony came to mind and I wondered what ol' Earl would have thought about all of these two-handed, non-finger hole bowlers and their generally disheveled public appearance.

Anyway... neat bowl, ya don't see that everyday.

There’s no doubt about the talent of these bowlers, but I still don’t like it. I much prefer to watch a proper bowler with their fingers and thumb in the ball!
I won’t mention any names but there’s one top bowler that looks decidedly odd with his choice of hairstyle and attire. That reminds me, I must watch Kingpin again, I’ve got it on DVD somewhere. 😊
