box making DVD's

The Raffan video is excellent. I would recommend that you get his book on boxmaking also, as it has a carefully thought out sequence of steps to follow in order to make a good box. Be aware that on any of the Raffan videos, you will probably need to view certain parts several times in slow motion mode — being a production turner, he's fast! I've learned a lot from his videos and his books.

The Keys videos are great. He is not the best talker in the world but the info and techniques are very easy to follow. My suggestion is to turn off the volume and just watch what he does and you will learn plenty.

I would say either Ray Key, or Richard Raffan. Mike Mahoney will have a video that teaches boxes soon, but his are big boxes(like cookie jars). Well thats what I have to say.

Box Making dvds

If you have difficulty with Chris Stott's dvds, both box-making dvds are available from the publishers of Woodturning magazine at http://www.thegmcgroup.com/item--Turning-Boxes--GMDVD-TURNING-7.html and http://www.thegmcgroup.com/item--Inlaid-Novelty-Boxes--GMDVD-INLAID-0.html. GMC are based in the UK so shipping might be more.

Richard Raffan's and Ray Key's are also excellent but one that no-one has mentioned Eli Avisera. He has a dvd on the Simple Box at http://www.ktmp.co.uk/FORMgallery-8.htmwith other box dvds to follow in the new year at http://www.ktmp.co.uk/FORMgallery-11.htm
