box making video

I learned the steel ruler trick from Bonnie Klein years ago, and for the 2 or 3 second lid, as in it takes 2 or 3 seconds for the bottom to drop off after you pick the box up by the lid, it is essential.

Now, all I have to do is learn Richard Raffen's back cut for hollowing out the insides of boxes. He just put up a video on how to do that....

Excellent video John. Seeing the different texturing tools and the effects they produce side-by-side was very illuminating. Hollowing with the Viceroy looks like a lot less stress than back-hollowing. I think I'll have to try it. Thank you.

Thanks Dean. I'm using the Viceroy more and more. I grew up using bevel running tools and still do most of the time. I am finding that the Hunter tools have a place in my arsenal.

Thank you so much, John. Your videos are always clear and well explained. The close in camera work here shows the tool presentation well, which is not always the case.
