Hello woodturners! I'm glad to be part of this community. I'm an experienced woodworker and woodcarver, but brand new to turning. My wife bought me a Nova Comet II package for an anniversary present with the hope I'd make her candlesticks. I tool a bowl turning class a few months ago at a Houston Woodcraft store from Mr Tommy Joe. I think I've found a new passion!
I'm really enjoying turning bowls, but due to work constraints, I'm not getting much done. Looking forward to learning more, upgrading to a bigger lathe and meeting woodturners to share with.

There are 100's of projects that can be turned on a smaller lathe and keep you entertained. I have several lathes in my shop and still spend most of my time on the smaller lathe turning smaller pieces. Over the years I learned a variety of skills turning the small pieces which can be turned from start to finish in a short period of time. The larger pieces require more time, more material, more tools, more equipment and more planning to finish one project.
