Greetings. I'm retired and do some WW'g and have a Delta Mini-Lathe (JML-1014). I haven't done any turning in over 5 years. My son-in-law w ants to turn a baseball bat so of course I offered my "expertise" and equipment and realized I have the lathe but am light on the expertise. I'm a tool junkie so I have a Tormek-4 and a variable speed grinder but am working on sharpening my turning tools. The Tormeks are nice but the learning curve is HUGE. I need help with a chuck issue but will post it elsewhere shortly. Hopefully i can return to some serious turning time.

Welcome, Brian. I have found that www.turnawoodbowl.com is a great resource for getting started. He has a ton of free articles and videos, as well as some paid courses. The tool sharpening course is worth it, IMO, as are the bowl turning courses. In addition, check out any local turning clubs.
