What is the best way to store CA glue? I have been under the impression that you don’t put the cap back on and store at room temperature. Seems to work ok for thin, but my last bottle of thick went bad with about 1/3 remaining. So what would be the best way; cap on at room temperature, cap off room temperature, or cap on refrigerate?
 
I would store with the cap on and at room temp once opened. The cap will help keep humidity out and prevent premature curing. If the cap starts getting covered in cured glue a soak in acetone will dissolve the gunk and make it like new.

New stuff I store in the freezer or fridge
 
I store mine at room temperature in my cool (60-65 degree F) basement shop. Based on a suggestion from a member on another forum, I store bottles in an airtight container with desiccant in the bottom. This keeps moisture, which degrades the shelf life, away from the CA. Many of my bottles have microtips on them; those I store with tips still in place, so I guess that qualifies as uncapped.
 
I store open bottles with cap on at RT. Prior to storage I tap base of bottle on lathe bed to (hopefully) get the last drop out of the thin tube, then I cap. Works better with thin then thick, the 2 types I use.

For those that store the bottles open I would be interested in the reasoning behind that choice.

I would worry about moisture causing premature curing and spills (though the spill thing would be purely a hypothetical worry . Out of laziness I have left them open if I have a microtip attached but lately have taken to having a bottle with some acetone in it that I immediately put the used micro tips in which leaves them clean and reusable for next time.
 
I buy Star Bond CA glue by the pint and keep it in the garage fridge. As needed, I put in small 2 oz bottles and put the caps with the long applicator tips on the bottles. For the thin and medium CA, I then put the long flexible micro applicator tips on the medium and thin bottles CA and store them in the fridge. Sometimes the flexible tips will crust ovet, but if I keep them clean they will last for several uses. Always store them in the fridge. The thick pint bottles are good for about four years. The medium CA pint bottles are good for at least five years. I use this thin the most so I can't say how it will last.
 
Thanks for the input. Seems most store in the refrigerator. I hadn’t had a problem except for my last bottle of thick. Stored in the room temperature and temps here have been in the high 90’s this summer and I don’t have AC. Seemed I had to fight rust more this year because of the humidity. I do have in floor heat in the winter and keep the shop between 60-70, but it would be low humidity, but need to get in the habit of storing in the refrigerator. I do use the micro tips on the thin so I’ll try cap off in a sealed container.
 
Just make sure you don't put CA on the hot dog. I buy small bottles of CA so I don't have the storage problem.
