Nice, Dave, hope you don't mind a basic question. What steps do you take to insure this end-grain turning doesn't crack? I haven't done any EG turnings yet, and I love turning cherry and plum, despite the bad rep they have for splitting.

I just try to get the bottom thickness somewhat in the same ballpark as the wall thickness then coat the pith area with CA glue on the inside and outside. I rub the CA in with a small acid brush to spread it around, hit it with accelerant and then coat the entire piece with a light coat of anchorseal. Never had a pith crack but did lose one when I forgot to round over the top of the rim.
