Hello Fellow Turners,

My name is Chuck Hamilton. I am new to this forum, just signing up today. I live in Lake Stevens, WA, about 30 miles north of Seattle. I have been turning for about six years. I started out with pens, and still make some of those from time to time. I have also done some items for the kitchen table, mills, ice cream scoops, bowls and the like. I get most of my enjoyment from vessels though. Some are purely decorative; others are boxes. I have included a couple of pictures to show the kind of things I make. One is a padauk vessel with a Monarch butterfly on top. Another is a sundial. Much work involves scroll saw work, carving (including piercing) and some pyrography, all of it enjoyable. Other interests are cycling and flyfishing. Thankfully, I am recently retired, and have a lot more time for all of this things. I hope to use this forum to share and to learn. I'm looking to see what you all have to share.

Kind regards,
Chuck

Hello Chuck!

I can't get the photo attachments to display.
I get the error "The requested page could not be found."
Are they a link to somewhere else or did you upload them here.
(I set the cursor in the message where I want the photo, then drag the photo file from a Win directory and drop it into a message)

Thank you John. They were very enjoyable to make. I particularly liked doing marquetry on the scroll saw, which is how I made the butterfly wings.

We should all send you our spare small figured and exotic wood offcuts - you certainly know how to put them to good use! I have a good scroll saw but have never done a single marquetry project. I use it a lot though, especially when the grandkids want to make something.
