Greetings to all.

My interest in turning started as I began to collect vintage woodworking and metalworking tools and machinery. I have 2 walker turner driver lathes. one quite old and the other one vintage 40's or 50's. I just acquired a delta 12 inch which i will be restoring and using.

My wife is a hand spinner and a weaver. She has quite a collection of spinning wheels and looms. Many of the parts for a spinning wheel can be made on a lathe. Hence my interest in making spinning wheels and parts for the wheels. Also I will be making creative , curious things as my imagination leads me. I like making things with moving parts. Engineering models, tops are fun, and probably a few green turned bowls.

We live on a 20 acre hobby farm on the Mississippi river in north central Mn. Pictures will follow shortly. The more we learn, the more we do and the more we do the more we imagine we can do. Thank you for reading.

Clyde, welcome! My wife is also a weaver and my daughter is a spinner (and knitter). Years ago, before I was a turner, I made my wife her first large floor loom, but lately have found many projects for both of them that I could make on the lathe. My daughter was gifted an antique spinning wheel a few years ago which had several broken and missing pieces. Lots of fun filling in the holes.
