As a new measure to reduce spam we have reconfigured the want-ads subforum. The want-ads subforum is now moderated for new threads (new discussion topics). Posts to existing threads will still occur unmoderated for now.

The minor disadvantage to this technique is that new threads on that forum will not appear 5 minutes after they are entered. The new threads will only occur when Steve or I explicitly approve them. But when we consider that these are want-ads, a daily update to that subforum with new ads should probably work fine.

Well done, Jeff.
I can see no real problem with this process for anyone posting and ad on the forum. While the spam is also not a serious problem (YET) they have no right to present their issues here (or any where else for that matter).
