Could this be Cuban Mahogany?

I got this wood in a purchase of a lathe and it may be cuban
mahogany. Does anyone know if that is true? I don't want to cut into
it until I determine if I will use it or sell it. It is about 6
boardfeet at 8/4. The last picture of end grain might help. It is
shinier than it shows, as I didn't use a flash. Also, the wood isn't
quite that red. It is like highly polished copper/bronze. It shines
like a mirror. Amazing stuff. I can't remember how to post pictures
to a message, so here are some I stored at photobucket.
Thanks,
FiguredWoods
