The bracket on my headstock holds attachments for lights and a dust collector so that they always move with the headstock. The comparator bracket from the tailstock is creatively gathering dust in the bottom of a drawer
So far, the only thing mine gets used for is a mount point for the video monitor I use with my hollowing rig. Like Ron's, the mount that goes on the tailstock sits in a drawer.
Hey @Ron Solfest, I'm wondering what the two pieces of metal tape are holding/covering on the metal duct in your photo. Looks like they're either covering holes or holding a couple of magnets, but is there something more sinister going on?
@Ric Williams - I assume you’re talking about the 6” duct pipe on the wall. I have an Oneida cyclone in one corner of my shop: it’s plumbed below the concrete floor to my tablesaw and planer; through the ceiling to my miter saw and bench; and along the wall on the lathe side. To anchor the 6” ducting to the wall I drilled access holes and just drove screws through the ducting into the wall with an extension bit. I covered the holes with foil tape. Not pretty, but easy and effective
While my USA-made PM 3520 didn't come with such a bracket, it did come with a guard cage hanging bracket that was pretty much the same thing. I bored out the hole to accept 1/2" water pipe and then stuck a pipe clamp in the hole. I use that clamp to hole all kinds of stuff besides a comparative sample. Its really nice for the bowl steady because there's nothing attached to the bed.
