The theme for the December Turning Challenge was "Happy New Year" ... use your creativity and turn something that celebrates the end of a challenging year and welcomes a new one full of hope, a blank canvas that you can paint any way you choose. Now it is time for forum members to vote. The voting starts now and ends at midnight UTC (6:00 PM Central Standard Time) on December 31. You are allowed one vote and once you have voted you won't be able to go back and change your vote. After you have voted you will be able to track the vote totals. The voting is secret so nobody other than you can see who you voted for (not even the moderators/administrators). And, as always, in case of a tie vote, the forum moderators will gather in a virtual smoke-filled room to sort out the winner.

David

I used these sockets https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07Y5X71CK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and these 4 W bulbs https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B081JC1YN3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. These are mounted in a 2: dia hole bored in the top of the lighthouse. The wire runs down the center of the tower, and out the side of the base. The switch is inline. The top of the lighthouse is mounted on the dowels but not glued so that it can be removed if the bulb ever needs replacing.

Thank you so much! I am placing an order. I have been using led tea light candles on a timer and have the cap/top of lighthouse lift off. These light fixtures and bulbs will provide much more light and LED bulbs don’t get hot! Again thank you.
I am new to turning and only my second year a member of AAW, and grateful for all the help.
Healthy New Year to you and family.
