Does anyone have an easy method of making a diamond pattern such as those used for feature rings in segmenting?? Maybe I can take that method and scale down to pen blank size??? Thanks, I told you I have alot of ideas floating in my head. I just need some help to get them to reality.

I don't know exactly what you want when you say you want 'diamond' shapes. When doing 'flat work' this can be accomplished by gluing up alternating strips of wood differing in color. This can yield a flat rectangular sheet with paralles stripes which can be then cut on an angle creating a strip diamond shapes. Another approach is to use a table saw to cut diamond shapes using the same techniques that segmented turners use making diamonds instead of trapazoids. You would be limited by the depth of cut of the tablesaw.
