dust collection canister

I remembered a short video produced by Jet to show differences between their vortex and non-vortex dust collectors with canisters. If you don't see enough detail re: cleaning, a search there might turn up additional videos to provide a better answer.

Hi Dave,
There should be a handle on top of the canister, turn this around a few times while the collector is running, there is a pair of rubber flap like things inside that brush against the inside of the canister and dislodge the dust. You can also take the canister off and blow it out with low pressure air, about 30 psi.
I have one like this from Penn State Industries, model DC 2V3 CF 1 1/2 HP 1500 CFM, for a year and have not had to remove the canister. The flappers work real well to clean the inside.
