Am looking to connect with other woodturners in the Athens, GA, area. I sent a message last month to the local AAW chapter (Classic City Woodturners) but never got a reply. It seems the group has gone inactive. I'm not really interested in going to meetings, but I am wanting to share and learn with other woodturners. So, anybody out there? Message me if you want to connect. Thanks.

Pretty sure i talked to someone while I was at the TAW symposium about coming down to Athens to do a demo. Can't remember who it was. As I remember they had a fairly sizeable group. I'll try to do some research tomorrow. Got hit the hay tonight. Just finished a demo for the local club and it's getting late.

Thanks John. Let me know if that neuron fires and you recall who it was. Hoping your memory is a whole lot better than mine ;).

The funny thing is I can see the guys face in my mind but can't think of a name. That happens often at my age.

According to their newsletter they decided to continue the club and will have another meeting. Here is the newsletter and website. Hope that helps you out.

I'm demoing at the Athens club May 1st. So if anyone is in the area stop by. I going to demo turning a bowl with handles and feet.

There is also a club on the East side off I20 and the Georgia Association of Woodturners meets on the Georgia Tech Campus near downtown. I'll have to look up the club on the East side.
