When I saw last months challenge I had other thoughts on the subject and decided to do a series small emerging bowls a set of 3, an end grain, a flat rim and a natural edge side grain,as we usually make them but leave them attached to the tree.

I did not want to intrude on the contest so I waited until after the winner was voted. A very nice interpretation of the subject.

They are small, made from branches and help explain to non turners how the bowl emerges from the wood. Based on previous discussions on this site it might be something to use when selling bowls as to where on the tree it came from.
