I have been trying come up with a better way to lift heavy rounds other than straining until I got it on my cutting rack. (As I get younger), My scissor lift table from HF works great inside on concrete to lift heavy blanks onto my lathe to rough turn. BUT it doesn't work outside on soft earth all it does is sink into a layer or two of curlies. Then I saw, Mike Peace's EZ-Lift video on u-tube. It has been there for a few years I guess but I had just never seen it before now. I couldn't come up with a more simple but effective design than his using the principle of a 2nd class lever. I needed a way to load heavy round onto my trailer also. I watched his video and built one like his and it really works great. I posted this thread Just in case there are others like me that have needed something like this, but have never seen his video. Here are a few simple pic's of me using it. And my chainsaw cutting rack which I rebuilt to fit the height I set up on my lift. It has served me for over 20 years but finally died so I made a new one. It is perfect for cutting cookies for end grain bowls or splitting a round into two halves I can handle. If you want more info on how to make this for your self then find Mike Peace's video named EZ lift on utube. He shows how to make it

I installed a crane in the shop. I'm still looking for a solution to get rounds out of the field for transport to the shop. Just kind of winging it for now. Have chainsaw will travel.

Also like your saw rack!
Thanks Taxman, that will help others that might be interested to find it directly. Also that design for my saw rack has worked flawlessly over the years for me even to making a small flat cut on a half round for tenon. This time instead of making my lift to fit the rack I made the rack to fit the same height as my trailer so the lift will place those heavy rounds right where I want them. I used it today and between the lift and my saw rack and my cutting table for cutting corners off a 1/2 round, I did all of it without even grunting. woo woo
