PRECAUTIONARY PRODUCT RECALL OF NOVA INFINITY CHUCK, Sku 8012/Woodcraft Sku #158836 and NOVA INFINITY UPGRADE JAW SLIDES Sku 8100/ Woodcraft Sku #158843), Sku 8120/Woodcraft Sku #148844, MADE IN NOV 2013 AND SOLD FROM DEC 1st 2013 TO JAN 20TH 2014.
Today, Teknatool USA Inc. announced that it is recalling their NOVA Infinity Chuck and NOVA Infinity Accessory Slide products. This would include all purchases of Nova Infinity products sold through January 20, 2014. This recall does not include any other standard Nova woodturning products.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience caused, but consider this a prudent and necessary recall in the interests of customer safety.
Recent testing by NOVA’s quality assurance personnel have found that the over hardened components in NOVA Infinity Chuck (SKU 8012/Woodcraft Sku#158836), NOVA Infinity Upgrade Jaw Slides for Super Nova 2 Chuck (Sku 8100/Woodcraft Sku#158843), and NOVA Infinity Upgrade Jaw Slides for Titan Chuck (Sku 8120/Woodcraft Sku#158844) has caused brittleness, which may cause failure in the Jaw Slide Complements. Even though customer products may appear to be operationally fine, to ensure customer safety Teknatool USA Inc. is instituting a product recall of all inventory from the batch made in November 2013, and sold from Dec 1st 2013 through to January 20th 2014.
End User Customers:
· Please cease to use immediately products: NOVA Infinity Chuck (SKU 8012/Woodcraft Sku#158836), NOVA Infinity Upgrade Jaw Slides for Super Nova 2 Chuck (Sku 8100/Woodcraft Sku#158843), and NOVA Infinity Upgrade Jaw Slides for Titan Chuck (Sku 8120/Woodcraft Sku#158844)
· All purchases need to be returned to Teknatool USA (return/refund information below) for a full refund of the purchase price. Please contact us for return details and prepaid shipping label.
Replacement Product:
Replacement Infinity product with the corrected jaw slides should be available soon. This product will be clearly marked, and have an accompanying inspection certificate. Please check with our service department: service@teknatool.com for availability updates.
The company’s findings and corrective actions will be reported to the Consumer Safety Commission as appropriate. Updates and changes to the company quality assurance procedures have been instituted, to prevent reoccurrence in the future.
