I'm trying to upload a photo to my gallery and keep getting an error message that it exceeds the file size limit. The photo is 640 pixels wide by 1278 tall, 578k.

Unless I'm mistaken, this should fit within the limits? I show that I have 2.1 MB of disk space used.

Anyone able to assist with this?

Thanks!

Mark

Hi Mark.....

I had the same problem last night. I'm not sure what was wrong, because I kept deleting photos from my gallery until it simply reverted me back to my gallery without posting the photo...... no message why it did that at all.

Made the attempt again a short while ago, and it worked for me today. Have you tried again recently?

Hi Odie. No, not in the past few hours. Still at work and buried with stuff so I thought I'd try a bit later. Thanks, and hopefully it's resolved now.

What is the file size, Mark? The rules say for AAW members who have sent a message to Steve Worcester giving their AAW member number, the limit is 2 MB per photo and maximum pixel dimensions of 1920 px per side as well as a total of 25 MB for all of your images. If you are still having a problem, please give me the details on the file size and pixel dimension as well as the error message and I will see if if it is something that I can solve.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for checking on it. Here's the file data:

The photo is 640 pixels wide by 1278 tall, 578k. I show that I have 2.1 MB of disk space used. I tried to upload a smaller .jpg also, at a file size of 200k. Same result. However, I don't know if I ever sent my member number to Steve.

I see a member number in yoour "About Me", but it is different that older member numbers which are five digits or less. Your member number is eight digits, but it could be that the AW changed its numbering scheme to accommodate future growth.

Do you remember what the message says?

Bill, here's a cropped screen shot of the redirect page:

I tried another photo just a moment ago. 707kb, 800 x 1116 pixels. That's the error I received. On the other hand, the photo I tried to upload yesterday is now in the gallery. Perhaps it's God's way of protecting the rest of the forum members from bad photos? :D:D

Here's the photo I was trying to upload. A Beads of Courage box for Pittsburgh.

Since it said that the filesize was exceeded, I would PM Steve with your AAW member number to see if you haven't been registered on the forum yet as an AAW member. Tell him about the problem with uploading images.

As I mentioned, the AAW member number that I saw in your profile information didn't seem to be what I would expect a member number to look like (it was a number that was over 25 million). I know that the AAW is growing, but ....

Do you have an image that is under 250 kB to try as a test. If you are able to successfully upload it, that would be confirmation about not being recognized as an AAW member.

Has the problem been resolved? I see that you were able to upload some images.

Hi Bill. Yes, as you suggested, I messaged Steve and he did have to manually edit. I uploaded just before leaving my office and am only just now back online.

Thanks very much for your help!
