I have the opportunity to get the wood from a large ginkgo tree. Because it is slow growing, I presume it is a rather hard wood. I have never turned gingko, nor do I know anyone who has, so is it a rare and wonderful opportunity, or a waste of time?

I’ve seen some pretty cool pieces made from ginkgo. I have a ginkgo crotch that I was gifted, but I have not yet turned it.

Not a waste of time. Get it, make something cool, and then post it to the gallery :)
