Very innovative.....

Chances are that would offer more face impact protection, than a UVEX bionic faceshield.

It wouldn't make me give up the bionic faceshield and buy that one.....but if I needed a faceshield, I think I'd choose the Grinder Hood over the Bionic faceshield.

-----odie-----

The price sure is competitive..........looks like to me it is well made and has full face protection. From just looking at it, could be a bit heavy?

However, my UVEX bionic faceshield has saved me from injury a couple of times.........think I'll stick with it! :)

I'm interested because it looks like it may work with full size ear muffs (according to pictures on the company's website and according to a couple of the user reviews).

That's the only thing I dislike about the UVEX Bionic that I use now...ear muffs don't fit under it very well.

Thanks for sharing. It looks interesting especially if it supports a half mask and ear muffs. Looking forward to a review here.

One possible con is the clear visor replacements appear to cost ($18) over twice as much as a regular Uvex replacement visor ($44 for a 7 pack on Amazon). Both shields seem to be rated the same.

Tried to find it but came across this. Looks better design,
Sorry to pick up on a relatively old thread but came across this grinder helmet yesterday and was the reason for my search to see if anyone had used it before. It looks like it has promise and maybe a little better protection than my Bionic.

Looks good for face shield protection - but...what about protecting your lungs as well? Just suggesting...... :)
I think that is a topic that many of ads do not want to confront or take seriously...until we have COPD or - worse - from long term inhalation of wood dust. It is a fact, and I know several older - well recognized - turners who ar eon oxygen, are not smokers, and have no other reason for their pulmonary issues.

I submitted a question to the mfg about impact resistance and whether or not it met any ANSI Standards. If I get an answer, I'll pass it on. I suspect that it will not provide any more impact resistance than my Bionic which I'm quite happy with.

Interesting, I like it as it has room for respirator and ear muffs. I have the full face breather set and find it a bit cumbersome on small quick jobs. This is where I would find it very handy. Dunno about importing it here, that cost might blow it out of the water.
