Several months back on the old email group there was a thread on the dangers of breathing the dust from our grinding wheels used for sharpening. There were some suggestions but the thread faded out before coming to any concrete conclusions. Today while looking at a Harbor Freight Gardening flyer I saw what might be the answer for many. They have a metal container that utilizes metal filters that enable the user to vaccum up wood stove ashes and embers. You use your shop vac and the attachment collects all the debris. The cost is $20+ shipping. Worth looking into I think.
