Just introducing myself.
I am an organic milk and beef farmer in UK. Stepping back from main business and moving to the sea where I have a large garage which is set up as a work shop. I am a jack of all trades doing most jobs needed on the farm. Am moving my fathers large lathe to garage. I tend to get more pleasure from repairing things that would be thrown away than making from new.
I also mill timber off the farm with an alaskan chainsaw mill. Other hobby is hedgelaying which I travel the country to do competeions.

Simpler than it sounds!
The hedge is at the site of the competition. The organiser will have found a farmer with a length of hedge of suitable age and size to be laid in the regional style.
I arrive with my tools, safety equipment, waterproof clothes, lunch etc. The hedge is marked out in "lengths", 8 to 10 yards(or meters) . We draw lots for our length and then have 5 hours to lay it.
That's it at it's simplest!

I will be competing in the "Skills of the Hills" along side Russell on Saturday but in the Intermediate pairs with my wife! Russell is a level above me, he's a professional, I'm a keen amateur. Competition is in the Blackdown Hills between Devon and Somerset, will be the best office window view you can have.
Below is my attempt at this years Nationals, Midland style intermediate, 5th out of 15 in my class, 100 competitors in 12 classes in total, 10 different styles.
