I was hoping for some advice… I started turning this 5-1/2” piece which has some rough bark on one side (which I think is kind of cool). If I continue widening the inside, it seams like the wall will lose integrity on that side. But the walls seem way to thick to leave it as it is. Should I keep going and turn the walls thin?

Also, does anybody recognize what kind of wood this is?IMG_9526.jpegIMG_9525.jpeg

I have not heard of that before, but doing a google search that looks very much like Red Mallee. Thanks!
I believe it’s Australian. I’ve turned it and off-centered the blank to save some burl. Wrap it so it won’t blow up if you do more inside hollowing.
