Just trying to plan arrival and departure times for the AAW Symposium in Albuquerque......Found out that hotel checkout is by noon on Sunday, and I'll try to do some field work around Questa and Taos, NM on Sunday afternoon....

Does anyone know the times (....or have they even been determined yet?) to drop-off pieces for the Instant Gallery, and more importantly, what time on Sunday can people begin to pick-up their work?

(I may need to head out before the official closing of the Symposium at 3 pm...)

Thanks,

Rob

Rob, all one had to do was present claim ticket at Richmond to pick up pieces, i claimed the pieces after 2nd rotation sunday with no problem

the hotel let me check out early sunday morning, load truck, leave truck in hotel parking, and go to 2 rotations

at my 2nd rotation, just before the rotation started, a turner got up and asked if anyone was going to airport after that rotation, he got a ride, not sure if the driver had his own transportation and was leaving or they pooled, i thought that was pretty cool :D

Hi Rob,

the current plan to keep the same schedule for 2009 that we used in 2008.

Instant gallery pieces may be dropped off Thursday
when registration is open 3PM - 7PM

Pick up begins shortly after the Instant gallery critique
which is scheduled for the rotation 10
Sunday 11 AM - 12:30 PM

Charlie and Al:

Thanks to both of you for the information - I'll plan on snagging my pieces from the Gallery around lunchtime and be on the road by 2 pm - Hopefully I can visit my field site that Sunday afternoon for a few hours, and then make Castle Rock, CO by that evening. I've been visiting an area along the Rio Grande near Taos every few years since 1984, and it is interesting to record changes in the native plant populations. Thanks to the AAW for scheduling the symposium in Albuquerque that's so close to this site, and at the time of year with the longest days (.....departure day fom the Symposium only one week after the summer solstice!)!!
