Is this turned?

Hard to tell. Could be all carving.

Could be turned on 2 axis one for the rimmed hole, the other for the form and hollowing.

My guess is it was turned on the lathe much like a NE bowl and the rimmed opening carved- May have been a knot or existing crack.
