Some years ago, I purchased an aluminum milled hand wheel for my old NOVA from a company called JT Turning. Seems like I remember reading several years ago that they've subsequently gone out of business but does anyone remember them and/or what they're status is? thanks...

JT the owner died a couple of years ago the web sight is gone.
I have a lot of his products including the hand wheel for Nova.

It was a shame to lose Tom - he brought several really well designed and made products to the market. His vacuum adapter was the best available - I believe that Robust is making one very similar, they sold the JT version for many years as an accessory to their lathes. The JT vacuum hud that allows using 2” pvc adapters of various sizes from 2” through 6” is a great design - mine has been in near-constant use for over 12 years (I wish someone would start milling a version, I’d love to have another. He made handwheels for several lathes, build the Gizmo and another hollowing accessory I’m not that familiar with and had a hollowing video system that was pretty innovative at the time. Guys like Tom don’t come around often, sad when we lose one.

Tom's vacuum adapter is the best I have seen. I paid for an order for another and Tom died two days later. I had to buy another from Robust but it doesn't pull the same vacuum as the one Tom made (about 5 inches of Mercury less but it still works). I had also bought hand wheels for my Jet 1642 and my Delta 46-460 so I could use the same vacuum system with all three lathes. Made another vacuum system as to why I needed another vacuum adapter. Yes it is a shame he passed as his products were darn near perfect.

Hey Bill, return it and we'll make it right for you. We've improved the seals. Address is on our website. Brent
