I (re)started turning in 2009 after a visit to NZ where I saw a couple of woodturners at work and was encouraged by one to "not leave it too long". I have lived in Texas for the past 28 years after moving from NZ with my wife and family to work with the Christian charity "Mercy Ships" where I am part of the IT team. We have 3 daughters and now have our two grandchildren. Unfortunately, while we are still in Texas, they are living in Australia :-( Having family in NZ and Australia we travel there often and I always try and connect with another turner while there. I turn 70 in May (2020) and hope to be able to retire then, so until then my turning is still weekends and evenings as time permits.
