Have you ever turned glued-up blocks of paper? Can you describe your process for applying the glue to the sheets of paper and gluing up the block? Seems like epoxy might be a good choice for this, since it could provide long open time and better clarity than Titebond. I've got a concept taking shape in my head but would love to avoid reinventing the wheel if there's already a good process out there.

I tried using construction paper for the color between layers of wood. It came apart incredibly easy. The coarseness of the paper split apart, not a glue issue. I can't help with other paper, just wanted to give you a heads up on my experience.

Have used paper bags a lot for paper joints designed to come apart by splitting the paper leaving each face glued to the respective pieces of wood. your gluing process needed to penetrated the paper not just bond the surfaces.

I've laminated paper for various model rocket parts, and "papered" balsa/basswood and turned it on a lathe, also for model rocket parts.

I use Gorilla Wood Glue, and 61 lb 11 mil photo paper.

The key is to use enough glue to soak the paper and then place the laminated pieces between wax paper and stack weight or clamp the lamination to keep it flat to prevent the paper from wrinkling.

Thanks, all of you, for good suggestions, cautionary notes, and links. Kailee Bosch was able to provide some very helpful information as well. This gives me a good foundation to work from.
