I was very saddened to learn that my friend and mentor Larry Roberts passed Wednesday evening. He was one of the most kind and giving people I have ever known. I can't find the words to say how painful it is to lose such a wonderful friend.

Larry had more than sixty years of experience in woodturning and was the founder of the Woodturners of North Texas in 1988. He taught his little brother, Gary, to turn and years later, S. Gary Roberts became one of the founding members of the AAW.

He was such a nice and helpful guy. Affectionately dubbed the safety officer because he had a few accidents.
