Our local club is looking for a place to meet. We found a place that is very cheap except they want us to have a million dollar liability insurance. Have any of you all done this. I can't find my AAW insurance information. It was packed somewhere when I moved. Does this policy cover this situration?

John

John Hill researched this and published it in the December 2004 issue. I also put a copy of it on the website here (accessible from the AAW FAQ page)

If you need more info I bet John Hill would be a good resource, as he is heavily in touch with the chapters.

On another topic - deep hollowing:
I've researched the articles you recommended and they are good articles. I'll probably build a 1.5" system which should allow me to go ~30". I have to finish our deck before this system gets built, so the target for the hollowing system is late June. When it's done I'll post pics and discussion here. Thanks for those references.

I'll dig up that article and then call John if necessary. Thanks. Don't you just hate it when home chores get in the way of turning. I bought a new house in January and I'm still working on it or the shop every day. I've only turned a couple of things and boy do I miss it.

John, our local Chapter meets at a near-by Middle School. We buy our liability ins. from a "Travlers Insurance Broker" in the city (Buffalo, NY)). I haven't delt with them this year since I gave up my Chapter officers post last election. The old rates were very reasonable for a 1 million liability policy. Our chapter paid in the vicinity of $325 to $350 give or take.
