Hoping to find local wood turners in the West Bend, WI area who might be interested in having a get-together for teaching/sharing. As a newbie with ZERO prior experience, having 'buddies' close by who are more learned about this than I would be priceless. HMU
 
Mark, I moved your thread over to the Woodturning Discussions Forum as the other forum is for new member introductions. This forum also gets a lot more traffic so hopefully someone local can share more information with you. The AAW has a chapter locator tool at https://www.woodturner.org/Woodturner/Woodturner/AAWConnects/AAW-Connects.aspx that can help you find a local chapter. The local Chapters are best setup to help new turners learn and get you introduced to people near by. There are 12 chapters in Wisconsin and according to ChatGPT these are the three closest to you. None of them are right in the West Bend area but I suspect West Bend turners are members of one of those three. I would reach out to each of the chapters and see if one of those makes sense to join. Their contact information can be found on the chapter locator tool. Good luck!
