A while back I saw a "how to" article on turning crescent shapes using a tilting faceplate of some sort. I cannot remember where I saw it but it seems it was on one of the many turning forums. If anyone remembers this, I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

Wish I could help. I asked a similar question to the forum a few months ago and got no answer.

I have not tried this yet but I think you can cut a circle groove in your blank, re mount it just off center and scribe another circle, they should make a crescent.

May need to do some carving to make it look right.

I've found enough information to be able to reproduce this. The time and effort of the setup and re-setup will probably be such that I will turn to another method of doing what I want to do. Still turned, but steam bent to produce a curve...
