Retired with more hobbies than I can manage. I’ve done woodworking on and off for many years. Some years ago I bought an HF 10x18 lathe, and a set of Delta tools at a yard sale. My original plan was just to turn simple table legs and knobs, but lately I’ve become interested in trying some more ambitious things. My pal Ric W. encouraged me to join AAWT for all the information and advice available from other turners.

Welcome. Noticed how it "snowballs?" One thing leads to another. Good idea to join AAW and look for a local chapter. Many are meeting via Zoom until they can have personal meetings. The resources on the main website are also worthwhile. Many who retire wonder when they had time to work! AMHIK.

Welcome aboard, Michael. There's no escaping once you've been drawn into the turning vortex. I also only intended to turn a few table legs when I bought a lathe seventeen years ago. So far, I have turned one table leg. The table is still waiting for me to finish the other three.

Be careful, I know this guy. He's kinda shifty. :p
We've been getting each other into expensive hobbies since the '70's, and he still falls for it.
He claims he hasn't gotten any tattoos, but I don't buy it.
