Those are very nice. Are you now the branch manager? Second picture is interesting. Can't tell but looks like it has a fine grain. How does it turn?

Madrone cuts like butter, or wet pear, or wet dogwood. Smooth even grain. Dennis, you must have done some thing wrong, those pieces don't look like they warped at all...... I always tell Dale Larson the same thing about his madrone bowls...... I am warped, just like my bowls...

John, Robo Hiippy pretty much said it all. It is my favorite fun wood to turn. Shrinkage and resultant cracking usually is not a problem with informal pieces like these if wall thickness is kept small. Except for the finials, these pieces are mostly about 1/8-in thick or less.
