Today I uploaded a photo and when I clicked the submit button it took a long time with a spinning ball icon. I figured it was hung up so I closed the window. Then when I went back to the gallery I saw 5 copies of the photo.

I deleted the extra copies, but I'm not sure why this happened. Any one else have the same problem? I'm on a Mac with Safari.

Hard to say if it's an isolated burp or will be an ongoing issue without trying it again.

First, restart the Mac just to be at square one. That should eliminate any temporary system or software glitch.

Then try uploading another photo to see what happens. If it still occurs, try uploading with another browser, like FireFox.

Other than that... ?
