This is for anywhone who needs a god deduction and some good wood. Depending on where you live you might have some vacant lots in your town getting over run with brush and unkempt trees. I have found that most of the time these lots can be had for next to nothing. I have just bought one for the amount of taxes the person owed on it a 40x160 with lots of medium sized trees for $2500. (they inherited the property and live out of state). I estimate roughly 3000 BF of useable boxelder and osage orange not to mention the big oak and the huge walnut on the property. I turned around and have donated it to habitat for humanity who will start building someones new house after I get what I want off the lot. The kicker is I get a legitimate charitable donation of $22500 come tax time.

WeeWilly, you're a lucky man to live in a place where you can do that. Vacant lots such as that within 20 miles of the Boston area are almost as expensive as ones with houses on them.

Even in the Boston area if you find an over grown lot, you might still be able to work out with the owner to remove some of the unattractive overgrowth:)
