Anyone planning to attend the NC Woodturning Symposium November 7th, 8th, and 9th in Greensboro?
I’m planning on going Saturday the 8th but not sure if I can take advantage of the demos due to some scheduling conflicts. I do plan on going to the Pop Up Gallery and Vendors.

I plan on being there. My Lovely Bride wants to visit a friend in the area. I hope to be there for the whole event. I sincerely hope to stay away from the temptation of the vendors. Frank Penta and I plan on meeting up.

It's been a while since I've been. The last time I THINK was in Nov 2017. I took this photo, the best and last photo I took of the late great John Jordan.
We hung out with Graeme Priddle and Mellissa Engler.

Frank set up a lathe in the vendor area and we shared - he turned his little laminated bowls and I made wands.
Look up "brilliant" in the encyclopedia and you'll find Frank's picture. (Not this pic - I wouldn't be in that entry.)

I gave wands to JohnJ and Graeme/Melissa - Graeme tried to use theirs to influence the auction but failed.
They are so much fun! There was no wasted space in the studio when I visited.

Doesn’t seem to be many vendors at this time. Do you recall how many were there when you attended?

I didn't pay much attention. Mostly just hung out between demos. I remember JohnJ, Ken Rizza, Ruth Niles, World Timbers, Doug Thompson, Sauers Veneers. someone selling nice figured and ambrosia maple. There were other tool vendors, memory is weak.

Seems like there were fewer than at the TAW this year - but Nashville is a little more central, easier to drive to than some. Even for me, Franklin TN (Nashville) is about a 3 hrs drive while Greensboro is about 5 hrs. I wonder how many would make it to a symposium in Key West, Main, or Alaska.
