Decided I wanted to try my hand at some hollowing and settled on the D-Way hollowing rig. There's only one good youtube video I can find of it being used and it's of Dave using it. It's good but of course he makes it look easy. I searched but didn't find any references to it here. Anyone have any experience, advice or tips on how to use it? It came yesterday and haven't tried it yet. I also got an extra cutter and sharpening jig for it.

That is a hollowing bar with an outrigger.
They have been around at least 30 years but their popularity faded before YouTube.

they work pretty well but are Limited to what forms fit inside the outrigger.

Don Derry’s ornament hollowing tool is a smaller version.

if you search YouTube with “outrigger hollowing” you should get some hits.
I can’t recommend what you find.
