Hello Massimo and Welcome to the forum! You have some nice work in your album. Looking forward to seeing more. And I think your English is plenty good, and no need to apologize for it.

Massimo in Italy

Hello Massimo,
as others have said, your english is good enough for us to understand. My curiousity is getting the best of me. My name is max and I live in Ft. Worth Tx. and was wondering if you meant the greeting of hello max was meant for me or someone else? I know a few people that live in Italy that are students there. Glad to have you on this forum, and welcome to the U.S.
Max.

Benvenuto al mio nuovo amico!

Welcome to the AAW Forum!

You are now the "second" Massimo I know from Torino (the first is an entomologist who is a beetle/weevil expert at the University there; Dr. M. Meregalli!).

You have some excellent work shown on your web site - Thanks for sharing this with us.

It would be interesting (at least to me) to learn what turning equipment and tools are used in Italy, and if they are any different than what we use here in the 'States. Are there lathe or tool manufacturers/producers in Italy, or do you need to rely on tools made elsewhere? (Britain? Germany?).

Perhaps some day in the future you can attend our AAW Woodturning Symposium (next year, June 2010, the Symposium will be on the east coast of the USA in Hartford, Connecticut, an easy drive from either New York or Boston..) and we can meet in person!

Best wishes,

Rob Wallace

Thank you all, "Max" and shortening of my name, just for clarification you see in my WWW paintings are my wife

Howdy Max.......

Unfortunately in Italy there are no long time manufacturers of tools and accessories for wood turning, we buy in the UK or in Germany, even in USA there are things that are beautiful, but the cost of customs is very high, I use tools Hamlet, Crown , chucks Vicmarc and Holzmann.
