Hi All, I'm a new member of this group but have been a member of the AAW since it's inception in 1986. I've actually have every issue of the AAW journal since that time.
I'm a retired academic dentist/periodontist who currently lives in the mountains of Colorado at 9000' in the process to moving to the lower altitude of Boulder.
During my academic career, I had the opportunity to travel the world, often bringing home woods native to the area I was visiting. My primary wood turning projects
have involved basic bowl shapes. As an 80 year old with diminished strength, the use of stabilizing tools have allowed me to explore the world of hollow forms.
I often put contrasting wood edges on my turnings. Incidentally if anyone is interested in having a free set of the AAW journals, please let me know - my wife and I are downsizing in
preparation for our upcoming move.
