I've turned hundreds of once turned wooden bowls, 6" to 22", drying them in paper bags on the concrete floor, with very very few fatal shrinkage cracks, and love the natural warping as they dry. I was given yestrday a 38" x 20" x 8" at the middle oak burl from a recent storm downed tree. Cut off from one edge a bit and turned two shallow bowls yesterday, now in paper bags. My first experience turning green burl. Not reaqlly interested in roughing out for twice turned later. Anyone have experience once turning green burl? Thanks.
