I recently bought a 1998 vintage Oneway 2436. I dismantled it for transport and carefully documented the connections in the control box, but when I put it back together it wouldn't start. With the help of Shane at Oneway I tracked down the problem to the door switch and a dead 500 milliamp fuse, which I could not read the specs on. Being able to call up and get advice on an older machine directly from the folks who built it is invaluable.

I bought my 2436 in 2000. It has always been a source of joy to this day. It rarely needed customer service but the folks at Oneway were always there for me when I did.

Powermatic was not anywhere near as helpful. I had a lot of problems with it bogging down and just stalling. I'd have to unplug or rest the VFD, and several times it would just not restart. (turns out I got a 4224 with a 2hp motor and VFD ) I replaced all the electric parts; motor, VFD, switches, wiring, and it's finally more dependable.

I purchased my Oneway 2436 in 2002 or 2003? And I use the lathe a lot. Until just last year, I have not had any problems with it. Last year, a "stop" switch died. I did not know what to look for, or how to find the problem. Called Oneway.....Talked with "The Tech Guy".....Shane. He asked a few questions and then stayed on the phone while I went to get an answer. Told me what the problem was. How to bypass the switch until I got my new switch in a week. Bought a spare switch also. Terrific service.
My Oneway 2436 has to be one of the best purchases I have ever made. Just sorry Oneway did not offer stainless steel lathe bed when I got mine. I have to scrub it once in a while.
