I am interested in turning handles for oyster knives. However, I have had no luck in finding a source for the knife shank or blade except for a couple of sites in Australia. Does anyone know of a supplier in the US?

a user on another forum was posting pics of oyster knives he's making - he uses either an old crosscut saw, or a 10" steel circular saw blade (not carbide tipped).

If you just want to do a few, you can always buy some with handles and replace the handle with your turned handle.
Plus you have the mystery of how the blade is held in the handle to overcome.
I'd buy a seafood market cheapie and dismantle it.
