Pen Turners - Do You Sign Your Pens? How?

I do not. It's my opinion that a sleeve around a kit does not qualify as art. If you personally want to stand out, I suggest you put it in a nice wood box and have your name laser engraved on that. Most every pen I turned, the customer wanted their name or the name of the person it was to be gifted to on it. I had a laser engraver for that.

I don't do a lot of pens, but I don't feel there is any good place to sign them without interfering with the look of the pen. I agree that you might want to find some way to package them that identifies you if you are planning to sell them. For me, I have just given them as gifts to family and friends and their satisfaction and use is enough for me. They know it was me anyway.

After doing my first one I too have a hard time considering it "art". I do not plan on selling them either. Actually, I never thought I'd ever turn a pen but after I was given 70+ kits by a friend I thought I'd give it a try. Can't say I'm hooked but I will do a few more for family and friends.
