Just signed up for the forum. I’ve been turning over 15 years and a “flat boarder” since I as a kid in my dad’s work shop.
Since I retired two years ago I spend almost ever day in the shop. Mostly turning bowls, platers and vessels.
We have a very active AAW chapter, Southern Utah Wood Turners.

A couple of vessels etc.

Thank you for your kind words.
My design goal is simple, basic shapes. If you don’t have a good design it doesn’t matter how beautiful he wood is.
I have had several classes with David Ellsworth and when I have a piece on the lathe I always ask myself “would David approve”

Speaking of the lathe.upload_2018-11-25_10-31-38.jpeg

I have a few mistakes nailed to the wall. Keeps me grounded.
